Experienced guides & coaches
Critical to an excellent learning experience are the guides or coaches. Your course will always be led by someone who holds a mountain leader qualification, has a current first aid qualification and is experienced in leading individuals and groups in the outdoors. We’re all passionate about the outdoors and the Lake District and we share this with you in a relaxed and friendly way and we’ll go that extra mile to ensure you have a great day.
On our Skills courses, we have a maximum of 6 participants to each leader, meaning you get the time and attention to really help you develop. You will also be provided with all specialist equipment needed e.g. camping equipment.

We’re based in the far eastern fells of the Lake District – Simply one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! We’ve good transport links and there’s a range of accommodation options close by from campsites to country house hotels with a Michelin Star restaurant! We’re close to iconic places such as Helvellyn, Ullswater, Aira Force and even the spot that inspired Wordsworth’s famous “daffodils” poem
Free 12 month Email Help Service
We don’t forget you once the course has finished! As well as providing resources and links relevant to your skills course, we’re always happy to provide feedback and discuss ideas around taking your learning to the next level. Demonstrating our commitment to you, we provide access for 1 year from the end of your skills based course to our email Help Service. We’ll answer follow up questions, offer advice on a range of things from route selections to purchase of equipment, through to recommendations for further training and development etc. This service is included in your course package with no additional charge.
